ResScan Essentials Clinical Guide

Max Ti/Ttot

Max Ti/Ttot sets the longest amount of time the device will keep pressure high (IPAP) if the patient doesn’t breathe in on their own. It also sets the shortest possible inhale time.

How it works:

  1. The device uses the following formula: Max Ti = 60 / iBR × Max Ti/Ttot.

(iBR = ideal breathing rate set by the clinician)

  2. The shortest inhale time (minimum Ti) is fixed at 25% of that Max Ti.

Settings guide:

  • Use 30% for patients with obstructive lung conditions.

  • Use 40% for other patients.

Note

Depending on the device, you’ll either see Ti Min & Ti Max or Max Ti/Ttot.
