Should I reboot my computer after installing ResScan Essentials 1.0?

Yes, you should reboot your computer after installing ResScan Essentials to complete the installation.

Are username and password case specific?

Can I use a blank username to open ResScan Essentials?

No, you cannot use a blank username to open ResScan Essentials. You must log in with your Windows credentials.

Can I use a blank password to open ResScan Essentials?

No, you cannot use a blank password. You must log in with your Windows credentials.

I cannot open ResScan Essentials when I am not connected to my organisation’s network (direct connection or VPN). Why?

If you are not connected to the network, you need to specify the domain of your organisation before your username: DOMAIN\Username. For example, RESMED\Neil.

Your domain can be found in the Windows account properties.

If you select Remember me, ResScan Essentials will remember your domain and username.

I have verified my user name and password several times but I still can’t connect to ResScan Essentials.

If you have changed the name of your Windows session, it is possible that your operating system is still using your old username. Open the command prompt and type whoami to see which username you should use.

My colleague is already logged into the computer with their Windows credentials. Do I need to close their Windows session and open mine in order to connect to ResScan Essentials?

No, you can connect to ResScan Essentials with your login credentials even if you are on your colleague’s Windows session, if you both use the same domain. However, if your colleague is already logged into ResScan Essentials, you will need to log out and sign in again using your credentials.

ResScan Essentials takes a long time to open.

In order to ensure secure authentication, ResScan Essentials requires time to open. It should not take longer than 30 seconds.

Security and access

Do I need an internet connection to use ResScan Essentials?

You have to download ResScan Essentials from ResMed's Healthcare Professional website, which requires an internet connection, as do application updates. But once the program is installed by an administrator, you do not need an internet connection.

How do I get sign-in credentials for ResScan Essentials?

ResScan Essentials uses your computer sign-in credentials to sign in to the app.

If I forgot my password, how can I sign in to ResScan Essentials?

If you're unable to sign in to your computer, contact your company's IT team.

Can I change my username?

Contact your organisation's IT team to change your username or password.

Can my organisation just have one set of sign-in credentials for the entire office?

This is not recommended, but it is possible if everyone uses the same computer.

How often must I change my password?

Refer to your organisation’s password expiration policy to see how often you must change your password, but we do recommend regular password updates.
