Download data
ResScan Essentials makes it easy to download data from patient devices using removable media such as SD cards and USB drives.
Important
Best practice: Use new or reformatted data cards and USB drives before you transfer important data from ResMed devices.
To download data to ResScan Essentials:
Open the ResScan Essentials Data viewer window.
Insert the SD card (PAP devices) or USB drive (Astral devices) into the computer.
Note
A popup window indicates that the data is ready to download. The device type appears in the Data viewer next to the About tab. Click View in the notification or click the device name to preview the card data. It is not necessary to download data to the computer if you just wish to review it.
Click Download.
A Download data dialogue opens and offers three options to associate the data with a patient:
Matched patient(s): ResScan Essentials uses the device serial number to find existing patients who have used this device.
Search for a patient: If an existing patient account has been created in ResScan Essentials, you can find the patient by searching for the Patient name or Patient ID.
Create new patient: If the patient account doesn't exist, you can create a new patient file by selecting this tab and completing the required fields.
Note
By default, ResScan Essentials downloads summary data.
Click Continue. Several Download options are available:
Detailed data for All nights is the default selection. The other menu options are: Last night, 7 nights, or 14 nights.
Include detailed data (when available).
Save file as
Choose a file name.
Save to group
Choose a folder to save the data to. You can also Edit Groups here.
Click Download data.
Note
If ResScan Essentials cannot validate some data found on the SD card or USB drive, this message displays: Some data could not be validated. Displaying data that is validated.
Detailed data and high-resolution data result in significantly larger file sizes, which are slower to download and may fill up limited storage capacity on your computer's hard drive.
