ResScan Essentials Clinical Guide

Configure graphs

Click Configure graphs pencil.png to select and reorder the traces and set Minimum value and Maximum value for each parameter listed for that patient and the patient's therapy mode. The display options are flexible so that you can remove options to focus on the most important parameters for each patient. Click Hide hide.png to close this view.

View Statistics and Device settings

From the Summary graphs or Detailed graphs tab, click Show statistics and settings hide.png to view therapy values and device settings.

Note

Information relayed in the Statistics and Settings tabs will vary depending upon the therapy device and therapy mode. Compliance data appears in the Statistics tab only if the compliance slider is turned on in the Options tab.

The Statistics tab displays therapy values for the PAP device associated with the patient, including:

  • Usage

  • Duration

  • Respiratory indices

    • AHI (apnea hypopnea index)

    • Hypopnea index

    • OAI (Obstructive apnea index)

    • RERA (Respiratory effort related arousal) index

    • Apnea index

    • CAI (Central apnea index)

    • UAI (Unknown apnea index)

  • Leak

    • Median

    • 95th percentile

    • Maximum

  • Pressure

    • Median

    • 95th percentile

    • Maximum

The information in the Settings tab hide.png varies depending on the PAP device used by the patient but includes variations of the settings below:

  • Therapy mode

  • Maximum pressure

  • Minimum pressure

  • Ramp enable

  • Ramp time

  • EPR patient enable

  • EPR enable

  • EPR

  • EPR level

  • Patient view

  • Response

Note

  • If you select multiple days, and this selection of days includes a change in therapy, the Settings view will display this message: Unable to display settings when selected sessions include different therapy modes or devices.

  • For details on settings specific to the device, see the device's clinical guide.

  • Contraindications depend on the device used. For any contraindications, see the device's clinical guide.

The Statistics tab also offers a different way to look at the data:

  • Mean: The average value

  • Median: The middle value

  • 95th Percentile: The value the device exceeded during the highest 5% of time

  • Maximum: The highest recorded value

  • 5th Percentile: The value the device exceeded 95% of the time.

If you select more than one session, ResScan Essentials displays the median of each value across all selected sessions.

Detailed graphs

The Detailed graphs tab makes it easy to focus your attention when viewing detailed data, allowing you to zoom in and out, according to the time period selected. Two bright blue vertical lines in the navigation window track the time period displayed in the detailed data window, while the vertical red line in the detailed data window provides a point of reference.

Navigation

You can use the scroll bar to navigate horizontally through the data. To select or change the specific time period you wish to display in the detailed data window, click in the navigation window at the point you wish to zoom in on.

Calendar

When you click the date menu, it expands to display the entire month. A blue dot indicates days with detailed data and a red dot indicates oximetry data.

Programs (Astral only)

Clinicians can set up different programs on Astral devices to match a patient's needs during sleep, daytime, exercise or physiotherapy. Each program can use different circuit, ventilation and alarm settings.

The Astral device includes one standard program, and clinicians can add up to three more.

ResScan Essentials can cycle through Astral programs. Clinicians can view Astral Program results by clicking the device data card and selecting the program from the left-side menu. Clinicians can examine Summary graphs, Detailed graphs and Device logs.

The Device logs tab shows settings changes and alarm/system events. The Device logs tab is not exclusive to Astral. It will also show data for Lumis and Stellar devices. The available filters (such as date, program, priority or type) depend on the device.
