ResScan Essentials Clinical Guide

Download data

ResScan Essentials makes it easy to download data from patient devices using removable media like SD Cards and USB drives.

Important

Best practice: Use new or reformatted data cards and USB drives before you transfer important data from Resmed devices.

Preview therapy data

Insert the data card; a popup shows the therapy device name linked to the data. A new Product tab (therapy device tab) also appears next to the Options tab.

To preview data, click View or click the new therapy device tab.

Note

If you only want to preview data, you don’t need to download it to your computer.

Assign therapy data to a patient

Users can assign data on SD cards to patients using three methods:

  • Auto-matched patient(s)

  • Search for patient

  • Create new patient

To download data to ResScan Essentials:

  1. Open the ResScan Essentials All patient files window.

  2. Insert the SD card (PAP devices) or USB drive (Astral and Stellar devices) into the computer.

  3. Click Download.

  4. The Download data dialog opens and offers three options for assigning the data to a patient:

    • Auto-matched patient(s): ResScan Essentials uses the device serial number to display existing patients who have used the device.

    • Search for a patient: If a patient account already exists in ResScan Essentials, you can find the patient by searching for the Patient name or Patient ID.

    • Create new patient: If the patient account doesn't exist, select this tab and fill in the required fields to create a new patient file.

      Note

By default, ResScan Essentials downloads summary data.

  5. Click Continue. Several download options are available:

    • Detailed data: The default is 30 days. You can also choose multiple options to download detailed data, including last night, last 7 nights, last 14 nights, or All nights.

    • Include high-resolution data (when available).

    • Save file as: Enter the file name

    • Save to group: Choose an appropriate folder.

Click on Manage groups to make folder changes.

  6. Click Download data.

Note

If ResScan Essentials cannot validate some data found on the SD card or USB drive, this message displays: Some data could not be validated. Displaying data that is validated.

Detailed data and high-resolution data result in significantly larger file sizes which are slower to download and may fill up limited storage capacity on your computer's hard drive.
